MOSCOW, October 31 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow police have detained a Vice-dean of Moscow State University and a department chief of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations. Both were caught red-handed when accepting a bribe worth one million roubles, the press service of the Moscow Head Interior Department told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
On October 15 a young applicant for a post-graduate department of a higher educational establishment complained to a district Interior department of the Southwest Administrative District that he had been offered to pay 30,000 euro for an unquestionable admission to the post-graduate department as well as success with his graduation thesis.
Agents of the Economic Security Department in charge of fighting corruption of the Moscow Southwest administrative district and their colleagues from the Interior Ministry caught both suspects red-handed when they accepted a bribe worth one million roubles.
The investigation files have been turned over to a criminal investigative department of Moscow police to open a criminal case against the suspects.
