MOSCOW, September 30 (Itar-Tass) – Russian President Vladimir Putin meets with officials and experts representing the Russian transport community later Tuesday to discuss the most pressing problems of the country’s transport system, the Kremlin press service said.
The list of officials who are expected to take part in the conference includes Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, Presidential Aide Elvira Nabiullina, Transport Workers Association President Vitaly Yefimov, the President of the Railway corporation RZD, Vladimir Yakunin, executives of largest transport and industrial companies, and officials from public units.
Workers of the Russian railway system, which marks its 175th jubilee Tuesday, October 30, will also attend the meeting.
Russia’s transport complex embraces about 600,000 organizations and companies and about 10 million commercial transportation vehicles. The number of workers employed in the sphere exceeds 4 million people.
