NOVO OGAREVO, October 29 (Itar-Tass) —— Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said natural gas supplies to the Asia Pacific Region after 2018 would match or even exceed those to Europe.

Contracts for the supply of Russian gas to APR countries will be signed after 2018 when a new East Siberian gas transportation system becomes operational.

“There is the potential and negotiations are underway,” he told journalists on Monday, Ocotber 29.

He believes that volumes “will be absolutely comparable to European ones”.

“With China alone we are negotiating 68 billion cubic metres and 10 billion with Korea,” Miller added.

In his opinion, Japan is one of the most promising markets as well.
