Ukraine CEC to present prelim results of elections to Rada Mon

Judging by the first preliminaary results of voting, the ruling Party of Regions will return a majority of seats in the national parliament

KIEV, October 29 (Itar-Tass) — The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Ukraine is to present preliminary results of voting at Sunday's elections to the seventh Verkhovna Rada here on Monday. CEC chief Vladimir Shapoval is expected to hold a news conference at 10:00, local time.

Judging by the first preliminaary results of voting, the ruling Party of Regions will return a majority of seats in the national parliament. According to the findings of exit polls, the Party of Regions, the list of which was headed by Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov, is in the lead by polling 31.6 percent of the vote.
