Amphibious airplane flies to search for dry cargo ship missing in Sea of Okhotsk

KHABAROVSK, October 28 (Itar-Tass) — The amphibious airplane Be-200, which is fitted with the special search equipment, departed from Khabarovsk to the Shantarskie Islands, where the dry cargo ship Amurskaya got missing on Sunday, a source in the regional emergency situation department told Itar-Tass.

According to available reports, the emergency radio beacon went off at 08:15 Moscow time onboard the dry cargo ship.

The tanker Novik assigned in the area, where the dry cargo ship is in distress, has not found the dry cargo ship yet. The freighter was carrying an 11-strong crew.

The sailors of the tanker continue the search.
