MiG, Sukhoi sign agt to cooperate in developing drones

Each company involved was commissioned to work under the part of the program where it is most competent

LUKHOVITSY, Moscow Region, October 26 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian aircraft-building corporation MiG and the holding company Sukhoi have signed an agreement to cooperate in the development of remote-controlled aircraft, MiG chief Sergei Korotkov told the media on October 25.

“The Sukhoi design bureau won the Defense Ministry’s contest for drones, but the MiG corporation is working under this contract, too. We have signed an agreement on the issue,” he said.

Korotkov explained that drones were complex products requiring great engineering, technological and industrial resources. Each company involved was commissioned to work under the part of the program where it is most competent.

“Drones are one of the areas where the United Aircraft-building corporation concentrates all resources of the aircraft-building industry,” Korotkov said.
