Numerous violations of Russian labor law exposed at Izhmash weapons maker

IZHEVSK, October 25 (Itar-Tass) —— Numerous violations of Russia’s labor laws have been exposed at Russia’s biggest weapons maker, Izhmash, the press service of the state labor inspection of the republic of Udmurtia told Itar-Tass.

According to the press service, the inspection at the plant was held from October 18 to October 22. Inspectors revealed that wage payments dates were not fixed by in-house labor regulations, work places were not certified to hazardous factors, and workers had no personal protection equipment.

Inspectors informed the republican prosecutor’s offices of their findings and requested to initiate administrative liability proceedings.

Founded as far back as 1807, Izhmash is now Russia’s biggest manufacturer of submachine guns, sniping weapons, guided artillery shells, and a wide range of civil products, such as fowling and sporting rifles, machines and tools. Izhmash exports its products to 27 world countries.
