MOSCOW, October 24 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) will monitor the US presidential elections, but will do it in the distant way, Secretary of the Russian CEC Nikolai Konkin told reporters on Wednesday.
“The Russian CEC will conduct a proper monitoring,” he said. Konkin confirmed that the CEC “will primarily do it (the monitoring of the US presidential elections – Itar-Tass) in the press and on the Internet materials.” He put it clearly that he means the US media.
In reply to a question whether some assessments will follow Konkin noted, “I believe that we will prepare something.”
The US presidential elections will be held on November 6.
