MOSCOW, October 23 (Itar-Tass) —— A Russian emergencies ministry’s airplane has arrived in the North Caucasian republic of North Ossetia to evacuate a policeman who was wounded in a recent terrorist act, a ministry spokesman told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“An Ilyushin-76 plane equipped with a special medical module landed at the Beslan airport at 22:10 Moscow time,” the spokesman said. Onboard the plane, there are five medics from the Centrospas rescuer team who will accompany the wounded man during the flight.
Police captain Vadim Khoranov, who was badly wounded in the head, will be taken to the interior ministry’s hospital. The man has already undergone one surgery.
One policeman was killed and four others were wounded in the terrorist act committed at the border between North Ossetia and Ingushetia overnight to Tuesday. The blast destroyed the check point. According to the interior ministry, the explosive device was activated by a suicide bomber when police stopped his car for a check.
