Sales of Rosneft shares to BP to bring 20 bln roubles in taxes to Russian budget

Taking into account that the sale price will be higher than a contribution to the charter capital, taxes will be paid immediately

NOVO-OGARYOVO, October 23 (Itar-Tass) —— The sale of 5.66 percent of shares in Russia’s oil major Rosneft to British PB will bring 20 billion roubles in taxes to the Russian budget, Rosneft President Igor Sechin said on Tuesday.

“If the government accepts the offer for the sale of a 5.6-percent stake in Rosneft, or 600 million shares, a total of 4.8 billion U.S. dollars will come to Rosneftegaz. And taking into account that the sale price will be higher than a contribution to the charter capital, taxes will be paid immediately,” Sechin told journalists. “These taxes will amount to approximately 20 billion roubles.”
