SIMFEROPOL, October 23 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich has promised to raise the issue of Russian gas supplies and the gas price at a meeting with Russian leaders that is planned for November.
“We have again gave instructions to our officials who deal with this problem, and I think that we shall meet in November to discuss this issue,” Yanukovich said on Tuesday at a news conference commenting on his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on October 22.
“The problems of the gas price might be solved by a package agreement,” he said. “We have some progress towards positive changes, towards understanding the this problems should be ultimately solved.”
On October 22, after his talks with Putin, Yanukovich told a news conference that Ukraine was negotiating the gas price problem with Russia. “We hope to agree an economically-justified and fair pricing formula for gas supplied to our country,” he then said.
