MOSCOW, October 23 (Itar-Tass) — An explosion that occurred early morning Tuesday at a checkpoint near the village of Chermen, Russia’s North Caucasian region of North Ossetia, leaves three policemen wounded, officials at the press center of the Russian Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass.
“A car exploded near the ‘Kizlyar’ checkpoint in Chermen at about 04:30 Moscow Standard Time,” a spokesman for the press center said.
According to him, three policemen were wounded and one more policemen might be trapped under the rubble of the demolished checkpoint building.
At the time of reporting, operatives and investigators were considering several versions of the incident but it was not ruled out that an explosive device inside the car might have been set off by a suicide bomber.
