Teams of more than 60 countries send applications for participation in Universiade-2013

All in all, the national Olympic committees of 205 countries received invitations to take part in the World’s Student Game

KAZAN, October 22 (Itar-Tass) —— National teams of more than 60 countries have sent applications for their participation in the World’s Student Game 2013 due in Kazan up to date, the organisers of the competition said on Monday.

In their words, the biggest part of them (36 countries) sent their on-line applications to the official website, while the rest of those platting to participate in the Students’ Game – through e-mail.

All in all, the national Olympic committees of 205 countries received invitations to take part in the World’s Student Game. Under forecasts of the organisers, athletes from about 170 countries will arrive in Kazan for the Games, while the total number of guests (including athletes and official people) will achieve a record high of 13,500 people.

The biggest delegations – about 500 people – are expected to be from the United States, Canada, China and the United Kingdom. The national teams of those countries have already sent their applications, along with the teams of Ukraine, Italy, Pakistan, Uruguay, New Zealand, Lebanon, Nigeria and so on.

The final date for the acceptance of applications for the participation in the World’s Student Game 2013 is January 6, 2013. The final composition of the team will become known no later than a month before the beginning of the Student Games.
