UFA, October 22 (Itar-Tass) — Bashkortostan’s President Rustem Khamitov signed a decree to dismiss the government of the Russian republic of Bashkortostan and assumed the powers of the republican prime minister, a source in the republican government told Itar-Tass on Monday.
This step became the next stage of a reform, which was launched in the system of the republican executive authorities last August, the source said. The reform is seeking to abandon the current practice of redundant powers and a vague responsibility between the agencies of the republican government and the Bashkir presidential administration.
Several changes will be made in the structure of the republican executive authorities. A structure and a line-up of the government will be made public within a few days.
The governmental staff will be merged with the presidential administration. As a result of these measures the numerical strength of the combined staff will be cut by more than a third.
Relevant amendments will be introduced in the republican legislation, the Bashkir presidential press service reported.
