5 killed, 11 injured in car crash in Primorsky Territory

The driver of a passenger minibus lost control of the vehicle on a wet and slippery road and rammed a right-hand drive Toyota car

MOSCOW, October 22 (Itar-Tass) —— Five persons were killed and eleven more were injured in a traffic accident involving a minibus and a motor car in Russia’s Far Eastern Primorsky Territory, a spokesman for the Russian Interior Ministry said on Monday.

“The road accident took place at the 175th kilometer of the Osinovka Rudnaya Pristan motoreay. The driver of a passenger minibus lost control of the vehicle on a wet and slippery road and rammed a right-hand drive Toyota car,” the spokesman said.

Four persons died instantly, twelve were hospitalized. Later, one of the injured died in hospital.

An investigation is underway. “It is not ruled out that the death toll from the crash might go up,” the spokesman said.

According to preliminary data, the accident was caused by the minibus driver who ran onto the ongoing lane, a spokesman for the Russian emergencies ministry told Itar-Tass.
