Six hospitalized after drunk man-driven BMW strikes another car

The driver, born in 1988, is detained for 48 hours

MOSCOW, October 20 (Itar-Tass) —— A serious traffic accident occurred though a drunk driver's fault in northern Moscow, a source at the press service of the Moscow police department told Itar-Tass.

On Saturday, at about 08:10 Moscow time, on Leningradsky Avenue, moving in the direction from Moscow, a driver in a drunken state at the wheel of a BMW lost control of the car, and it ran onto the other lane where collided with a Daewoo Nexia, the source said.

Six people were injured in the accident. Three of them are in grave condition. The others are in moderately heavy condition. All the six people were hospitalized.

Traffic policemen and investigators were working at the site, the source said.

An official from the main Moscow police investigation department arrived there.

The driver, born in 1988, is detained for 48 hours. The investigators will insist on his arrest. According to the driver's words, he works at a federal state organization.
