IZHEVSK, October 19 (Itar-Tass) — A total of 350 people were evacuated from the "Flagman" Trade Center in Izhevsk (Udmurtia) on Friday after gas had leaked from a section of a gas pipeline running near the shopping center. No casualties have been reported.
The gas pipeline burst when a new cable was being laid in Udmurtskaya street, a source from Udmurtia's branch of the Ministry for Emergency Situations told Itar-Tass.
Repairs are going on. Traffic in the area of the accident has been banned, the source said. An investigation into the causes of the accident continues.
