Putin offers to establish ONF as national public organization in spring 2013

The president noted that a transformation of the All-Russian People’s Front in a party “would slightly restrict our framework

NOVO-OGAREVO, October 18 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Vladimir Putin finds it inexpedient now to turn the All-Russian People’s Front (ONF) in a party, though he does not rule out such opportunity in the future. The president proposes to create an all-Russian public organization on the basis of the All-Russian People’s Front.

“Some colleagues offer to organize this (the ONF work) as a party,” Putin recalled. “Probably, this is excessive, though in the future it can be possible,” he noted.

The president noted that a transformation of the All-Russian People’s Front in a party “would slightly restrict our framework.”

Putin proposed “to hold a founding congress and create an all-Russian public organization ONF involving different parties, organizations and some Russian citizens” in the spring of the next year.
