MOSCOW, October 16 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree relieving of duties Police Major-General Alexander Ivanin, who served as chief of the RF Interior Ministry’s (MVD) Special Rapid Reaction Force and Aviation Centre of the Interior Ministry, the official Kremlin website reports.

Earlier, the Russian Investigative Committee (SK) reported that a criminal case was opened against Major-General Ivanin over hooliganism with intentional infliction of bodily injuries. According to investigators, this spring after a meeting in a recreation centre in the Sverdlovsk Region, being under the influence of alcohol he battered two commanders of the territorial units of the MVD special force.
