Tests confirm body of missing official has been found

MOSCOW, October 16 (Itar-Tass) — The Investigative Committee /SK/ said DNA tests have confirmed that the body of Ramenki district head, Alexander Dmitriyev, has been found. Earlier, the SK ran a number of tests to identify the body of a man found in a wooded area in Moscow Region's Odintsovo district on August 21.

"To ascertain the identity of the man who resembled the missing Dmitriyev, a number of complex expert examinations have been carried out, including DNA tests," the SK said, "by their results, the investigators acknowledge that it can be Dmitriyev's body.

Dmitriyev, 48, drove in his Toyota Land Cruiser to work in the morning of July 16 from the Resurs-1 gardening cooperative near the village of Rassudovo in Moscow area. He never turned up at his office and his mobile phone did not answer.

His car was found near a railway crossing in Rassudovo on the same day. It was locked and his driving license was in the car.

Criminal proceedings were opened over murder. A day later, Moscow police announced a one-million-rouble reward for the information about the missing official.

"At present, the investigator is continuing to consider several leads, but the priority is given to the version according to which Dmitryev's professional activity is related to his murder," the SK said.
