More than 2,600 policemen to guard Russia-Azerbaijan qualification game

The game will be held at the Luzhniki stadium at 19:00 hours

MOSCOW, October 16 (Itar-Tass) – More than 2,600 policemen will guard law and order at a World Cup qualification game between the Russian and Azerbaijani national teams, which will be held at the Luzhniki stadium at 19:00 hours.

Teams of cynologists with sniffing dogs examined the territory of the stadium on the eve of the game.

All the audiences will have to pass inspection with metal searchers as they enter the stadium and individuals intoxicated with alcohol will not be admitted.

Rules for the spectators forbid taking ‘bladed articles’ /knives/ and ‘glassware’ /bottles/ to the game.

Elsewhere in the city, the regular police patrol routes have been moved closer to sports bars where the game will be broadcast on large screens.

“All in all, 2,654 police servicemen will be engaged in guarding law and order at the Luzhniki stadium, including 370 officers of the Specialized Police Units Center and 1,460 servicemen of the Interior Troops,” police sources told Itar-Tass.
