KHABAROVSK, October 15 (Itar-Tass) —— A criminal case is opened over the police boat accident in the Khabarovsk Territory, a source at the Russian Investigative Committee's Far Eastern regional transport investigation department told Itar-Tass on Monday.
The criminal case is opened on charged of "violation of the safety water transport regulations that caused deaths", the source said.
According to the investigators' version, the boat with three Khabarovsk transport policemen aboard got into an accident on the Amur River on the night to October 12.
The boat and the three policemen have not been fund yet. Their fate is unknown. Several versions of the incident are under consideration. One of them is violation of the regulations for night-time water transport operation.
The investigation is continuing.
