MOSCOW, October 14 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Prime Minister and leader of the ruling United Russia party Dmitry Medvedev said late on Sunday he was satisfied with the results the party reached in the elections in Russia’s Far Eastern regions.
Vote counting is practically over in these regions, he noted. “There are preliminary results there. I will put it straight – United Russia has shown good results. Better than in the December elections to the State Duma.”
Thus, according to preliminary results, United Russia won 33 percent of the vote in the Primorsky Territory, and 23.4 percent – in the city of Vladivostok. “Now it is about 40 percent. The same can be said about Sakhalin,” he noted.
He also welcomed the results of gubernatorial elections in the Amur region.
