MOSCOW, October 14 (Itar-Tass) —— United Russia leads at elections in three Far Eastern regions, where the elections are over by now, Secretary of the party’s General Council Sergei Neverov said on Sunday referring to observers.
“The information from observers proves that as of now the United Russia party leads at the election to Sakhalin’s regional Duma, at legislative elections in Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky,” he said adding the information is also supported by calculations of the ballots.
“As yet, our expectations are coming true,” Neverov said.
He stressed “the past elections in the Far East make it possible already to say these elections’ tendency is lack of major breaches,” and expressed hope elections in other regions will be similarly calm.
While commenting on the participation in the elections, Neverov said “people’s interest to elections depends directly on their level.” “No wonder, in the regions, which are electing governors, the participation is very active. For example, in the Bryansk region the number of those who came to the polling stations is double the figure we saw at earlier election in 2004,” he said.
