MAKHACHKALA, October 13 (Itar-Tass) —— A 10-kilogram homemade explosive device was found and rendered harmless on the outskirts of Dagestan’s city of Kizilyurt.

As ITAR-TASS learnt at the republic’s Interior Ministry on Saturday, “the bomb was found two kilometers from the city between the building of the Sulaksky branch of the Ministry of Melioration, Lands and Agricultural Water Supply and the hall of banquets.”

According to the ministry, officers of the Federal Security Service Department rendered harmless the homemade device at 07.35 Moscow time on Saturday with the help of a water cannon. The approximate power of the bomb without shrapnel was equivalent to about 10 kilograms of TNT.

Investigation is underway.
