MOSCOW, October 12 (Itar-Tass) — Russian national team has won a World Cup qualifier versus Portugal 1-0.
The Group F match was held at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. A goal was scored by Alexander Kerzhakov at the sixth minute of the game.
This is the Russian team’s third victory in Group F. It has nine points at the moment, which puts it atop of the group.
Earlier the team won 2-0 versus Northern Ireland and 4-0 versus Israel.
Portugal occupies the second position with six points. It won 2-1 in a game with Luxembourg and 3-0 playing versus Azerbaijan.
Tuesday, October 16, the Russian and Azerbaijani teams meet in Moscow.
