MOSCOW, October 12 (Itar-Tass) — Police in the republic of Ingushetia detained a person suspected of involvement in the murder of religious figure Yunus Akhilgov, an official at the Investigation Committee /SK/ told Itar-Tass on Friday.
Akhilgov's body with signs of violent death was found in the village of Troitskaya in Ingushetia's Sunzha district, on October 11. The SK said Yunus Akhilgov had died of gunshot wounds.
Thanks to quick actions by police, local resident Khamzak Khadziyev, 53, was apprehended. He confessed to the crime. Khadziyev said the crime was motivated by sexual abuse of his 19-year-old son by Akhilgov.
Criminal proceedings were opened under Article 105, Part 1 of Russia’s penal code /murder/. An investigation is underway.
