Police search for driver allegedly responsible for actress death

MOSCOW, October 11 (Itar-Tass) — Police have put on the wanted list the Cadillac car in which the alleged culprit behind the road accident that killed actress Marina Golub can hide, Moscow’s law enforcement officials told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

Police are searching Muscovite Alexei Rusakov, who was allegedly driving the Cadillac car that rammed the Hyundai car with Marina Golub who died from the impact.

“The second car belonging to Rusakov - the Cadillac with the numbers N777KK 197 was put on the wanted list. “On this car the suspect could travel outside Moscow, in connection with which this vehicle has been put into the Potok federal search base,” the source said.

The traffic accident occurred on Wednesday after midnight at the intersection of Vernadsky Avenue with Lobachevsky Street. According to police, the Cadillac car ran a red light and rammed the Hyundai car with Marina Golub. After that a Kia and Lada cars crashed into them. Golub died on the spot.

According to police, the Cadillac driver was Rusakov who has repeatedly been brought to administrative responsibility for violation of traffic rules. He was also responsible for serious offences such as driving while intoxicated and crossing into the oncoming lane.

The police do not rule out that Rusakov was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted over the road accident under Article 264, part 5 of the RF Criminal Code (road traffic offence, resulting in the death of two or more persons).
