Plane flying from Moscow to Larnaca makes emergency landing

MOSCOW, October 10 (Itar-Tass) — A plane that took off from Moscow to Larnaca (Cyprus) has made an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo - the departure airport, Itar-Tass learnt at the airport.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) told Itar-Tass that the landing gear position alarm went off in the plane of Aeroflot airline after takeoff. It warned about a problem with the retraction of the left leg of the landing gear. “The pilot made ··a decision to burn up the fuel and make an emergency landing in accordance with the flight safety rules,” the agency said.

There were 139 passengers and seven crewmembers on board the airliner.

“The plane landed safely at Sheremetyevo airport,” the airport representatives said.
