MOSCOW, October 10 (Itar-Tass) — Ankara and Damascus are ready to set up a direct communications channel, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters on Wednesday.
"The experience shows that when tensions begin, the best way is to set up a direct communications channel. I know that Turkey and Syria are ready for it.
"It will be the simplest way to remove the misunderstandings. We're interested and will be encouraging partners towards accomplishing it," Lavrov underlined.
