VLADIVOSTOK, October 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia is ready to make a maximum input in protection of the Asia-Pacific territories, Russia’s Minister of EMERCOM Vladimir Puchkov said on Tuesday.
Puchkov opened on Russky Island the 6th APEC Senior Disaster Management Officials Forum.
“Providing security of life is a necessary condition for development of the economy,” he said at the opening of the forum. It is necessary to have new approaches in protection of people and territories from emergency situations, he said. “Russia is ready to make a maximum input in this work.”
The minister said during the forum its participants will discuss suggestions on improvement of the regional potential in emergency and humanitarian relief.
