MOSCOW, October 8 (Itar-Tass) — Russia intends to repeat the Phobos-Grunt mission after 2020, head of the Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) Vladimir Popovkin said at the 3rd Moscow Solar System Symposium.

According to him, the urgency of the project will not disappear also after 2020, and no similar foreign missions are expected as well. “We are ready to return to this issue in the development of the Federal Space Program for 2016-2025,” Popovkin said.

The Roskosmos chief noted that the second mission will be undertaken “with taking into account the mistakes that were made during the first attempt and the technical groundwork that Russia will receive as a result of the implementation of the projects Luna-Glob, Luna-Resurs and ExoMars.”
