VLADIVOSTOK, October 8 (Itar-Tass) — Rescuers and firefighters from Russia and the United States will undergo traineeships in each country’s divisions, Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said on Monday after a meeting of the working group on cooperation in prevention and liquidation of emergency situations under the Bilateral Presidential Commission.
“We took a decision on mutual exchange of delegations, rescuers and fire fighters who will be on duty in Russian and U.S. divisions,” he said noting that such experience will help to share the best practices.
The working groups discussed action plans for the upcoming two years, including monitoring and forecasting efforts, trainings of specialists and the development of psychological services.
A special focus was placed on the improvement of monitoring and laboratory control of precursors and parameters of emergency situations.
After the meeting of the working group the two countries signed a protocol of cooperation.
