MOSCOW, October 7 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev called on Sunday President Vladimir Putin to congratulate him on his 60th birthday, prime minister’s spokeswoman Natalia Timakova told reporters.
In reply to queries about the present, she said the president had received from the prime minister a book by Alexandre Benois about Tsarskoye Selo printed in 1910.
Benois (1870-1960) was Russian theatre art director, painter and ballet librettist. Tsarskoye Selo is the town containing a former Russian residence of the imperial family and visiting nobility, located 24 kilometers south of St. Petersburg.
