MOSCOW, October 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Twelve Russian tourists injured in a road accident in Turkey remain in local hospitals, Intourist company Director-General Viktor Topolkarayev told Itar-Tass on Saturday, October 6.
“According to the latest information, 12 Russian citizens are undergoing medical treatment in hospitals, five are about to be discharged today or tomorrow,” he said, adding, “One Russian citizen is scheduled to undergo surgery today.”
Topolkarayev arrived in Turkey last night and visited each of the Russian tourists in the hospitals. “All of them said that they have no complaints about the treatment,” he said.
The official said he would begin negotiations with the transport company that owned the bus on which the tourists were travelling to Kemer. “But what is important now is that all tourists get full medical attention and feel well,” he added.
The road accident happened on Friday, October 5, on the road between Antalya and Kemer. The bus skidded off the wet road and overturned, sliding for about ten meters along the slippery highway. There were 25 people in the bus at the time of the accident, including 23 Russian tourists, one driver and one guide. One Russian died.
