Russia hopes UN, Arab League envoy for Syria to visit Moscow soon

"We hope the trip will be made soon," Bogdanov said

RHODES, Greece, October 5 (Itar-Tass) — Russia hopes UN and LAS envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi will visit Moscow soon, maybe this October, as the factor of time is very important, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian presidential envoy for the Middle East, told Itar-Tass on Friday. He participates in the Rhodes Forum.

The Russian foreign minister already had a telephone talk with Brahimi, and in the talks in New York, Lavrov invited him to visit Moscow. "We hope the trip will be made soon," Bogdanov said.

When asked whether the visit may be paid in October, the diplomat noted "the factor of time is very important". "We believe the sooner we will take active politico-diplomatic steps in this direction, the sooner the bloodshed is ceased," he stressed.
