IRKUTSK, October 5 (Itar-Tass) — Police in Irkutsk are searching for the unidentified persons who attempted to blind pilots of a passenger plane with a laser beam when the airliner was landing at night, a source at the regional police department's press service told Itar-Tass.
The crew of the plane that was carrying 33 passengers on a flight from Khabarovsk to Irkutsk was preparing to land at the airport at about 01:00 on Friday. At the moment, a laser beam was aimed at the pilots, the source said. The plane landed safely.
According to the preliminary information, the "laser terrorists" were in Irkutsk's district of Nizhnyaya Lisikha. The search is continuing.
