TYUMEN, October 4 (Itar-Tass) —— Another worker, who was injured in the blast that triggered a fire at the oil sludge processing plant on the Priobsky field, died at the hospital in Yugra on Thursday, a source in the investigation department in the Investigation Committee in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District told Itar-Tass. So, the death toll reached nine people.

The blast that triggered a fire at the oil sludge processing plant, which belongs to the company Invest Oil, went off on September 29. Eight workers were found dead at the incident site, another eight injured workers were brought to the district clinical hospital in Khanty-Mansiisk. One of them was discharged from the hospital after dressing. On October 1, four injured workers were brought for treatment in Moscow.

The criminal case was opened over the incident under the criminal article for violation of the safety rules at the explosion-hazardous facility. During the investigation another suspect – the technical director of the company Invest Oil was detained on Thursday. On Wednesday, the Russian Investigation Committee reported about the detention of the general director of this company as a suspect. The detectives are searching for other people involved in this crime.
