ISS not to be moved to another orbit

Ballistic calculations indicate that there is no need to correct the orbit as there is no risk of collision with space debris

MOSCOW, October 3 (Itar-Tass) —— The International Space Station (ISS) will not be moved to another orbit, the Mission Control Centre said on Wednesday, October 3.

“The decision has been made against manoeuvring the ISS to avoid collision with space debris. Ballistic calculations indicate that there is no need to correct the orbit as there is no risk of such collision,” the Mission Control Centre said.

Earlier, it was planned that the station’s orbit would be corrected using the service module Zvezda’s engines.
