Vologda policeman suspected of abetting concealment of murder

He offered his car and helped conceal the evidence

MOSCOW, October 3 (Itar-Tass) — A police officer in the Vologda region is suspected of abetting the concealment of murder, the Interior Ministry's press service told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

"During a check into the report about the disappearance of a young man, criminal police ascertained that the missing person had been beaten up by his colleague at work and died of his injuries. The victim's body was taken outside the town and buried in a wooded area," the press service said.

A road police officer, aged 22, helped conceal the signs of crime. He offered his car and helped conceal the evidence.

"Both suspects have been detained. A check is underway at the Interior Ministry’s department for the Vologda region. The road police officer will be fired and his superiors will be disciplined to as far as dismissal from police," the Interior Ministry's press service said.
