Fire at Saratov-based children’s theatre brings down roof

A total of 450 people were evacuated from the building

SARATOV, October 2 (Itar-Tass) —— A fire broke out at a Saratov-based theatre during the performance on Tuesday. The roof collapsed, no one was hurt, a spokesman for the local emergencies administration told Itar-Tass.

The fire broke out at the roof of the Saratov Children’s Theatre at about 18:25 Moscow time. The show was stopped. A total of 450 people were evacuated from the building, which was built in 1910. The fire on an overall area of 400 square meters was contained at 19:50. Investigation is underway.
