MAKHACHKALA, October 2 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed the chiefs of the federal agencies to continue the practice of regular visits to the regions in the North Caucasus to inspect the situation in the regions.

“This practice should be continued, this should not be one-time visits,” Medvedev said at a meeting of the governmental committee for the development of the North Caucasus Federal District.

He recalled that he gave the instructions to the chiefs of the federal agencies to pay regular visits to the regions in this federal district and these instructions are being fulfilled. The ministers of health, education, labour, interior affairs, emergency situations and others visited the North Caucasus Federal District in the last few years, the premier said.

“The federal district is so complicated over its social structure, the amount of the problems amassed that regular visits should be made in it, certainly, the wellbeing of tens of millions of people in our country also mainly depends from your decisions. Certainly, the peace in the Caucasus depends from this, as well as the ethnic and religious accord on the national scale,” Medvedev said. He added that there is no higher priority in this issue.
