KHABAROVSK, October 1 (Itar-Tass) —— The prosecutor’s office at the spaceport Vostochny began working in the Amur Region on Monday. The prosecutor’s office was established under a decree of the Russian general prosecutor, a source in the regional prosecutor’s office told Itar-Tass on Monday.

According to the regulations of the prosecutor’s office at the spaceport Vostochny, the prosecutor’s office is in charge of some subordinate facilities. The powers are divided between the prosecutor of the spaceport, territorial and other special prosecutor’s offices and the staff of the regional prosecutor’s office. The supervisory activities of the newly-established prosecutor’s office spread on the construction site of the spaceport and the closed-access administrative and territorial entity – settlement Uglegorsk.

“The establishment of the new special structure in the regional prosecutor’s office is caused by the construction of a special facility - spaceport in the region and the need for prosecutor’s supervision over the enforcement of the laws and the observance of the human rights in all spheres of legal relations in the construction and operation of the Vostochny facilities,” the source explained.
