15 people detained over shooting into air in celebration in Moscow

MOSCOW, September 30 (Itar-Tass) — About 15 people have been detained and brought to a police station after an incident in which a wedding motorcade shot into the air in the centre of Moscow earlier on Sunday, the press service for the Moscow police department told Itar-Tass.

“About 15 people were brought to the Tverskoy police station where they will be questioned. Besides, police check database to verify legal traumatic weapons possession. Nine vehicles have been arrested and will be examined,” the officer said, adding that road police will make up administrative protocols on the violation of road safety rules.

Earlier on Sunday, the press service of the Moscow police department told Tass that Moscow police had detained a wedding motorcade for shooting into the air in the centre of the city. According to the spokesman, traffic police blocked eight wedding cars heading for the wedding party in the centre of Moscow, at the intersection of the Mokhovaya and Tverskaya Streets, just a stone’s throw from the Kremlin, for shooting into the air. “Several persons (born in North Caucasian republics) were detained,” he said.
