NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 30 (Itar-Tass) — Nine persons, including four children, were hurt in a road accident in the Nizhny Novgorod region in the small hours on Sunday.

According to a spokesman for the local traffic police department, the accident took place at about 04:00 a.m. Moscow time at the 67th kilometer of a highway linking the cities of Nizhny Novgorod and Sratov. A KIA Cerato ran into a Mercedes minibus running in the same direction. The minibus then ran off the road.

An alcohol test of the KIA driver, who received his driving license only in January 2012, revealed he was drunk while driving. His blood alcohol content was 2.0%.

An investigation is underway.
