YALTA, September 28 (Itar-Tass) — Uzbekistan may join the zone of free trade before the end of the year, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said on Friday. According to him, the prime ministers of the CIS member countries have supported Uzbekistan’s bid to join the CIS free trade zone agreement.
“The heads of the delegations discussed in a narrow format the participation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the agreement on the zone of free trade,” Lebedev said. “As a result of detailed discussions the decision was taken to support Uzbekistan’s bid to join the agreement,” Lebedev added.
It has been decided to complete the work on Uzbekistan’s entry into the agreement by the end of the year, Lebedev said.
