Labor Ministry proposes 10-day holiday in Jan and 9 days off in May

The winter holiday will last ten days from December 30 to January 8

MOSCOW, September 28 (Itar-Tass) — The Labour Ministry suggests the Russians should have a ten-day holiday in January and nine days off in May next year. The ministry proposed this in its note to the draft government resolution of July 2012 on days off in 2013.

The winter holiday will last ten days from December 30 to January 8. The days off will be moved from January 5 and 6, Saturday and Sunday, to May 2 and May 3, Thursday and Friday.

The ministry proposes to leave February 25, Monday, as a working day, but transfer it to May 10 (the holiday of February 23 falls on Saturday, and so the next Monday was supposed to be a day off).

Thus, if the ministry's proposal is approved, the Russians next May will have days off from May 1 to 5 and from May 9 to 12.
