Prominent figure skater and sports commentator Alexander Gorelik died in Tuchkovo-a town west of Moscow

MOSCOW, September 27 (Itar-Tass) —— Prominent figure skater and sports commentator Alexander Gorelik died in Tuchkovo-a town west of Moscow, last night. He was 67.

In the 1960s Gorelik performed at international figure skating tournaments, skating in a pair with Tatyana Zhouk - sister of celebrated figure skating coach Stanislav Zhouk. Alexander Gorelik was a silver medalist of the 1968 Olympics in Grenoble, and was a vice-champion of the 1966 and 1968 world figure skating championships.

After Gorelik ended his sports career he starred in a film about ice skating - "The Blue Ice":

For a number of years Alexander Gorelik worked as a figure skating coach and was a member of the Russian Figure Skating Federation.

Gorelik was also known as a radio commentator. In recent years Gorelik worked on Rossiya-2 television as a commentator of figure skating events.
