MOSCOW, September 27 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Ministry for Emergecy Situations has sent a plane to the United States to airlift a Russian parachute jumper Irina Skvortsova, who fell into a coma after she failed to open a parachute in time during a parachute jump show in Perris Valley in California.
The Russian plane made a stop-over in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky for re-fueling on Thursday and continued the fight to California. The plane is equipped with a medical module. There are five doctors from the Russian Central Rescue Service (Centrospas) on board the plane who will give medical assistance to Irina Skvortsova during a long flight from the United States. The plane is expected to land in Los Angeles at 5.00 pm Moscow time.
On Sunday a large group of parachute jumpers dressed in aerodynamic suits made an attempt to break the previous record in group skydiving, forming a geometrical figure in the air made up of 100 bodies. During an aerobatic trick Irina Skvortsova collided with another jumper, got entangled in parachute shroud lines and failed to open a reserve parachute on time.
The Russian parachute jumper who fell into coma is in dangerous condition.
