LOS ANGELES, September 27 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) plane with injured Russian parachute jumper, world record holder Irina Sinitsyna will fly on Thursday from Los Angeles to Moscow.

Senior Consul of the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco Vyacheslav Uvarov told Itar-Tass earlier that the “arrival of the special Ilyushin IL-62 plane to the international airport of Los Angeles is scheduled for 09:30 a.m., local time (20:30 p.m. MSK).” According to the diplomat, the plane on the way to the United States will make a stopover in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Four doctors of the Centrospas group and a psychologist of the EMERCOM emergency aid centre are dispatched to Los Angeles to help Sinitsyna.

“Social services of the hospital will transport Irina by a medical helicopter to the plane where she will be handed over to Russian specialists, after which the special plane will fly to Moscow,” Uvarov continued. “In addition to the Centrospas medical group, the athlete will be accompanied by her sister, as well as the team doctor who are all the time close to her.” “We all hope that Irina will start recovering, several hospitals in Moscow are ready to take the patient,” he said. “The Consulate General is in permanent contact with her family members,” said the diplomat, who has seen the relatives of the injured parachute jumper at hospital.

Officials of the administration of the Moreno Valley Medical Centre (California) declined to give any comments to Itar-Tass on the state of health of Sinitsyna, referring to patient confidentiality.

The athlete’s entourage said that her condition has not changed.

The parachute jumper is in a coma after an unsuccessful jump at California’s Perris Valley airport, sport director of the Aerograd Kolomna drop zone where the athlete trains, Dmitry Khaitovsky said earlier. “Last Sunday, a large group of parachutists from various countries, including Russian parachute jumpers, has taken an attempt at breaking a skydiving record, making a geometrical figure – rectangle with the participation of 100 people in special aerodynamic suits. The incident occurred during the making of a skydiving stunt and the unfolding of the main parachute. Irina collided with someone from the skydivers in the air, then she got stuck in the cords and failed to open a reserve parachute timely that did not open fully until the moment of her collision with the ground. Now doctors assess he condition as extremely grave, she is in a coma,” Khaitovsky said.

Last summer Irina Sinitsyna became the main organiser and inspirer of the skydiving world record, when the Pearls of Russia team has made a white-blue-red flower from 88 female skydivers in the skies over Kolomna on July 21.
